This plan keeps the racing day simple and leaves Sunday flexible. Race times, parking and venue access change by event, so check with your school, club or regatta organiser before leaving home.
01Friday: arrive and get organised
Check in, unpack the race gear and confirm the next morning's meeting time. If you have not booked yet, compare where to stay in Nagambie, motels, caravan parks and Discovery Parks Nagambie Lakes.
Pick up breakfast supplies and water before the morning rush. Use the Eat and drink guide for dinner choices, then check bookings with the venue.
02Saturday: racing day
Arrive early enough to follow the organiser's parking directions without rushing your rower. Bring folding chairs, shade, sunscreen, water, food and a warm layer. Read the full Lake Nagambie regatta guide before the weekend.
Race programs often leave gaps. One adult can stay near the course while another takes younger siblings for a short foreshore walk, the playground or a meal in town. Our Nagambie with kids guide has options close to the lake.
Check what's on the lake this weekend for closures and weather. Do not plan to launch a boat during a whole-lake closure.
03Saturday evening: an easy dinner
Book dinner rather than relying on a walk-in table when town is busy. Compare Nagambie pubs and dinner and the wider Eat and drink guide. Check menus, hours and reservations with the venue.
04Sunday: choose one relaxed stop
If everyone still has energy, choose one activity before driving home:
- Walk through the Tahbilk wetlands and visit Tahbilk Winery, after checking access with Tahbilk.
- Visit Mitchelton Winery and check current family access, dining and bookings with Mitchelton.
- Hire a paddle craft or small boat from Go Adventure Nagambie, after checking availability and lake access.
- Stay in town for the foreshore and the Black Caviar statue.
Keep the final stop short enough that the drive home does not become the hardest part of the weekend.
