The Black Caviar statue stands at Jacobsons Outlook on High Street, beside Lake Nagambie. It is an easy stop while walking the foreshore or passing through the centre of town.
01The statue
The bronze shows Black Caviar with jockey Luke Nolen. Local tourism organisation Go Nagambie says sculptor Mitch Mitchell based the work on the mare winning the 2011 Schweppes Stakes at Moonee Valley. The statue was unveiled in Nagambie in 2013. Read the official local guide to the Black Caviar statue.
02Black Caviar and Nagambie
Black Caviar was foaled at Gilgai Farm in Nagambie in 2006. She retired unbeaten after 25 races, making her connection to the town a source of local pride. The Black Caviar Trail links the statue with other places connected to the region's thoroughbred industry.
Gilgai Farm is a working thoroughbred property. We have not found a current public tour offered by the farm, so do not enter the property or plan a visit there without direct permission.
