Where to stay in Nagambie

Compare Nagambie accommodation: caravan parks, motels, the waterfront holiday park and camping, by boat parking, families, dogs and distance to the ramps.

Nagambie is a small town with a short main street, so almost everywhere you can stay is within a few minutes of the lake, the ramps and dinner. The real differences are boat parking, who the place suits and how far your money goes. Here is the honest comparison.

01Families with a boat: the holiday park

Discovery Parks Nagambie Lakes is the waterfront holiday park, with powered sites, cabins, a pool and water on almost every side. The Loddings Lane boat ramp is right by the park, which means no morning trailer queue in town. See our full guide, and compare both parks in Nagambie caravan parks.

02A bed and a hot shower: the motels

Three motels sit on High Street itself: Nagambie Waterfront Motel at the lake end, Centre Town Motel in the middle of the shops, and Nagambie Motor Inn at the southern entrance to town. All three put you within a walk of dinner. Our motels guide covers which suits whom and the trailer-parking question to ask when you book.

03Couples: the lake end or the winery

The lake-view rooms at the Waterfront Motel are the pick in town. Out of town, The Mitchelton Hotel at the winery adds a day spa, a restaurant and river views, ten minutes' drive from Nagambie. See visiting Mitchelton.

04Budget and serious anglers: camping

There is no free camping on the lake itself. The designated riverside camping areas are on the Goulburn between Nagambie and Murchison, walk-in and bare-bones. The camping guide covers where it is legal, the rules and when a powered site is the smarter call.

05When to book

Three dates fill this town: rowing regatta weekends (check what's on the lake), the first weekend of cod season in early December, and summer school holidays. For those, book weeks ahead and confirm boat or trailer parking at the same time, because a powered site that fits a van rarely fits a van and a boat.

06Common questions

Where should I stay in Nagambie with a boat? The holiday park if you want to launch at Loddings Lane without towing through town, or any of the High Street motels if you ask about trailer parking when booking. Never assume a motel car space fits a trailer.

Is Nagambie accommodation dog-friendly? It varies by property and season. Discovery Parks Nagambie Lakes allows dogs under park rules; motels differ room by room. Always confirm with the property before booking.

How far is the accommodation from the lake? In Nagambie, barely anywhere is far. The motels and the town caravan park are on High Street, a street back from the foreshore; the holiday park is on the water itself.
